What the Algarve taught eight strangers about slowing down
Field notes from a week on Portugal's coast — the markets, the mornings, and the quiet moment a group of women became something more.

My own journeys — scouting trips, solo travel, films, and blogs. This is where each retreat is quietly built, in the open, one year at a time.
The Bohemian Wanderer began with a question asked on a long train ride through Portugal: what if travel could feel like coming home to yourself? After years of moving fast — through airports, deadlines, and rooms full of people — I started taking trips the way I had always wanted to: slowly, with a notebook, a camera, and no fixed agenda.
The best moments were never the landmarks. They were the long breakfast tables, the accidental friendships, the quiet hours when a group of women stopped performing and started belonging. This journal is where those stories live — retreat by retreat, year by year.
